We began growing gourmet hardneck garlic in the early 90's. At that time, we only grew enough for our consumption. Our love of this variety led us to start propagating it in 2000. After our first year of propagating, we had approx. 30 bulbs. Soon thereafter, family, friends and neighbors began requesting some of our garlic for themselves. From there, it’s been an annual process of planting, harvesting, cleaning, drying, curing and replanting so that we could establish a seed bank.
All of our garlic is naturally grown. We do not use pesticides or herbicides. We plant and harvest all of our garlic by hand. This variety cannot be farmed mechanically.
Our garlic farm is located in Livingston County and on our other property located in Presque Isle County.
